Business planning is an extensive subject. Business plans are made in existing businesses for projects, as part of a strategic review or as part of a budgeting excercise. To launch a new business, planning is essential. The appropriate analytical tools vary from case to case and much depands how much time and information is available.
To accompany the Guide to Business Planning book, we provide on an occasional basis snippets or mini tutorials featuring a concept or analytical tool that may be useful or even essential to people involved in marketing, marketing planning, market forecasting, budgeting, making investment decisions, commercial due diligence, strategy development, strategic planning, or business planning.

There you will find a short explanation of the concept and a picture illustrating the concept. You can download a PDF version of the picture by clicking on the picture.
